The 24 piece South Devon Big Band was formed in March 2013 after an exploratory one-day workshop led by Neil Maya, professional clarinetist/saxophonist and Band Leader. A small committee was formed, rehearsals began and our first gig was on 15th December 2013 at Hannahs at Seal Hayne on a very wet and stormy evening. We shared the stage with a wonderful band complete with solo & backing singers from the Ivybridge Community College which were also led by Neil. Five of the original members are still part of the band today.
